Michael Nelms was raised in Hartwood, VA. He is a welder for a plumbing and mechanical company.
He is an avid Bass fisherman, and has been fishing since he was a young child. As an avid Virginia fisherman, he has grown up fishing the Potomac River, the Rappahannock River, Lake Anna, and several other lakes, reservoirs, and tributaries.
He’s fished several tournaments on waterways up and down the entire East Coast, performing exceptionally well, allowing him to fish Championships. He qualified in 2010, to fish the All American, on Cross Lake, in Louisiana. He also qualified through the weekend series to fish on Sam Rayburn, in TX, and Old Hickory Lake, in TN.
During the off season of tournaments fishing, he enjoys deer hunting, and crappie fishing. Although he still enjoys bass fishing year round.
Over the years, he has tested and used several types/brands of fishing rods. It wasn’t until he experienced the use of the Cajun Custom rods that he realized he wasn’t satisfied with his current rods. From the durability, casting distance, and the sensitivity, to the fact the rods are made in the USA, I was sold!
With this being said, I would personally like to thank Jaysen and Stacy, for welcoming me to their Pro Staff family, for Cajun Custom Rods.
